Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) has some new employees buzzing to get to work. Thanks to the efforts of Radiographer-Turned-Beekeeper, Daniel Kolasa, CNRV now has two beehives on campus, making it Carilion’s first ever Bee Healthy Apiary.
Bees act as pollinators, flying several miles away from hives to produce healthier food, fruit and an overall community. This goes hand-in-hand with Carilion’s mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.
Today, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m., the media and the public are invited to meet Kolasa and check out the hives in action.
