A Beginner’s Approach to Garden Photography
Robert E. Lyons, Professor Emeritus University of Delaware, former Director of the Hahn Horticulture Garden and a faculty member of the VT Horticulture Department will offer a Zoom presentation at noon. This talk is all about using your eyes, your mind, and your camera to capture moments in your personal landscapes. They may be your gardens, vignettes from your travels, seasonal records of your favorite plants and/or features of landscape designs.
The presentation content is example-driven and provides understandable and uncomplicated information to create aesthetically pleasing images in a relatively short period of time. While equipment details and camera mechanics will be mentioned, they will not dominate the presentation. Instead, the impact and exploitation of prevailing light, the elements of photographic composition, the power of mastering depth of field and developing a personal style will be emphasized. This presentation is particularly relevant for and geared towards early-stage photographers who use a variety of devices, including DSLR’s, mobile/cell phones or both.
