The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation has announced that Janean Williams has joined the museum as its new communications and guest services manager.
Williams has more than 15 years of experience working in museums and performing arts venues. She got her career start at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and served as guest services and audience development professional at Orlando Opera, Opera Roanoke, and the Roanoke Symphony.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to develop audiences and programs at the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation, and I am looking forward to working with the community, recognizing its diverse interests, art,and culture,” Williams said.
Williams has a master of fine arts degree in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Hollins University. She is a Floyd County native who loves music of all kinds, classic cinema, and southern fried cooking.
