RADFORD – The City of Radford and Radford University are collaborating on a community art show this summer.
The Radford University Art Museum on Tyler will host the Radford Art Show, a “juried art exhibition of recent works by regional artists” that is “a collaborative partnership between Radford University and the City of Radford,” according to the Call for Artists announced by the university. “The event has been widely successful in the past, with thanks in part to support from the City of Radford.”
Artists have until May 1 to submit art for the show. Details on submission can be found at https://connect.radford.edu/radford-art-show.
Travis Head, a Virginia Tech professor of visual art, will be the juror for the show. The show will include awards and cash prizes and is open to the residents of Radford and the surrounding region of Southwestern Virginia. Entry is open to all artists over the age of 18 working in any media. T
he exhibition opens in June of 2023, extending through the last weekend of July as to conclude following the Mary Draper Ingles Festival in Radford. The exhibit, reception, and award announcements will be held at Radford University Art Museum’s Tyler Gallery, at 214 Tyler Avenue on June 9, 2023 from 5-7 p.m.
