Park and Ride Lot

Find out about a project to construct a new park and
ride lot on Route 8 (West Main Street) just off
Interstate 81 at exit 114 (Christiansburg). The 1.5-
acre facility will be located about 0.2 mile north of the
exit 114 interchange and be accessed from Route 666
(Mud Pike). The new park and ride will include
approximately 80 parking spaces, a bus shelter, bike
racks and lighting. Sidewalks and a crosswalk across
Route 8 to tie into the existing pedestrian facilities
also will be constructed.

Categorical Exclusion at VDOT’s Salem District Office
located at 731 Harrison Avenue in Salem, 540-387-

ahead to ensure the availability of appropriate
personnel to answer your questions.
If your concerns cannot be satisfied, VDOT is willing
to hold a public hearing. You may request that a
public hearing be held by sending a written request to
Mr. Chris Eggleston, Virginia Department of
Transportation, 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, VA
24153, on or prior to May 25, 2023. If a request for a
public hearing is received, notice of date, time and
place of the hearing will be posted.
