The Discovery Center at Claytor Lake State Park, Dublin, is open for business. Come see live “critters,” such as snakes, turtles, a salamander and more. Located at the state park’s bath house near the beach, the Discovery Center is staffed by park personnel and New River Valley Master Naturalist volunteers, like Denise Mathews (pictured). They are usually there Thursday through Saturday, through Labor Day. Come get in touch with nature. This energetic musk turtle is one of several live specimens adults and kids alike can see at the Discovery Center room at Claytor Lake State Park, off exit 101 on 1-81, Dublin.
