BLACKSBURG TOWN COUNCIL will hold public hearings on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 South Main Street, Blacksburg, regarding the following items:
Ordinance 2056: An Ordinance to Authorize the Use of Photo Speed Monitoring Devices in School Crossing Zones by Adding New Section 12-114 to the Town Code.
The proposed ordinance authorizes the use of photo speed monitoring devices in school zones and provide for a $100 civil penalty violations.
Resolution 6-A-24: A Resolution to Authorize Acquisition of Property and Interests in Property for the Harding Avenue Stormwater and Pedestrian Project.
The proposed resolution authorizes the acquisition of various interests in land, but not limited to sidewalk easements, drainage easements, right-of-way and temporary construction easements, necessary for the construction of the public improvements consisting of the Harding Avenue Stormwater and Pedestrian Project, and it authorizes the use of eminent domain as may be necessary. All persons affected by or interested in ordinance or resolution may appear and present their views. After each public hearing, Town Council will consider action on the item.
