CHRISTIANSBURG- A new drive-thru coffee shop, 7Brew, has opened in Christiansburg and recently made a donation to the Humane Society of Montgomery County.
On Nov. 19, 2024, the ribbon was cut at a grand opening of the new business on North Franklin St. 7Brew is a coffee stand that has thousands of drink options and combinations from coffees to energy drinks and more.
“7Brew is a double lane drive-thru coffee business,” Matt Peters, 7Brew Director of New Stand Openings, said, “but we’re much more than coffee. We have energy drinks, shakes, smoothies, teas, lemonades, almost any iced or hot beverage you can think of. We also do blended versions as well, a lot of sugar free and decaf options as well. We prioritize our cultivating kindness part though. So, we’re not just a coffee stand. We prioritize our speed and our kindness, so you come through- you’re greeted by someone, an order taker here [at 7Brew] with an iPad. They’re instantly shooting you order right inside, but it’s not just the order interactions, it’s “How’s your day going?”, “What are you up to?”, you know, trying to make that experience one that you can’t get anywhere else.”
7Brew also strives to cultivate the community through kindness, so at the grand opening, they donated over $6,000 to the Humane Society of Montgomery County. Erin Hall, Vice President of the Humane Society of Montgomery County, thanked the 7Brew workers and leaders. Mayor Michael Barber welcomed the 7Brew leaders and “brewistas” to Christiansburg and expressed how excited Christiansburg was to have them in town. That excitement was already beginning to show at Tuesday’s event because both drive-thru lanes had a constant flow of cars and people trying 7Brew for the first time.
When asking Erin Hall what a donation like this does for the Humane Society, she said, “A lot. Spay/Neuter, feeding the cats, cat litter, cleaning supplies, just all of the things you can think of for your household cat, we just have many of them. It helps us promote the cats, get them out there, you know, social media and things like that, and it can help with some adoption fees.”
The HSMC is a no-kill shelter for cats that operates off donations, who house and care for many male and female cats at any given time. The HSMC works hard to find these furry felines forever homes and the 7Brew donation will help them continue towards that goal. Hall said the HSMC is always in need of towels, toys, cleaning supplies, boxes- which with the holiday season coming up, Hall reminds us that cats love Amazon boxes and shoe boxes.
For the ribbon cutting at 7Brew, those in attendance were encouraged to sign the ribbon, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce was there to greet and welcome the new stand to town and many media outlets were present for something so new in Montgomery County.
“The team is over-ecstatic,” Peters said, “with the support that they’ve shown in the past two weeks – they’re so excited, with all of the outreach and all the support that they’ve seen with the cars and their friends and family that have come through. So, that’s the number one thing.”
“We like to stay active in the community,” he added. “We do open and do a lot in the community at first, but about once a month, we encourage our stand managers to stay involved in the community, so whether it’s working with a charity or working with an organization, or a high school or a college for example, we look to stay and not just cultivate kindness within our stand, but in the county and make sure that we’re still getting our representation out in the community and doing service in our community.”
