Radford University head men’s basketball coach Darris Nichols has added yet another talented high school senior into the mix for the 2025-26 campaign with the signing of in-state prospect Masiah Stevens by way of Newport News.
Stevens, a 5-10 versatile guard, has experience at both the point and shooting guard positions. He has been a standout with the state championship-winning program of Woodside High School under head coach Stefan Welsh for the past four years. Stevens comes to Radford as the No. 263 rated high school student-athlete in the nation by PrepHoops.com.
“Masiah is a lightning quick guard with game-changing pace and speed,” Nichols said. “He has the ability to create shots for others and we are excited to help him grow and reach his immense potential”.
Stevens has amassed quite the trophy case during his time with the Wolverines. To go with helping the squad to back-to-back VHSL Class 5 State Championships, the first time the school has accomplished the feat since 2003-04 and 2004-05, he was named to the Peninsula District All-Freshman Team and to the All-Peninsula District Team for three straight years. Stevens was also selected for the All-Region squad in 2022 and has been an All-Tidewater honorable mention.
To go with his standout career at Woodside, Stevens has also competed on the club level with Team Loaded VA.
Stevens will have a full four years of eligibility when he joins the Highlanders in time for the 2025-26 season.
