Virginia Tech softball has announced the 2025 schedule. Tech’s slate features nine teams that advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
Additionally, the Hokies host 16 games at Tech Softball Park. Tech’s home ACC weekends will be against Virginia (March 7-9), Stanford (March 28-30), Notre Dame (April 11-13) and Florida State (May 2-4).
The Hokies kick off the year with five games at the Charleston Invitational (Feb. 7-9), including matchups against Fordham, North Dakota State and Charleston. Tech faces off against Elon in a midweek matchup (Feb. 11) before heading to the Purple & Gold Classic in Baton Rouge, La. (Feb. 14-16) where the squad plays UT-Arlington, Northwestern and LSU over the span of five games.
Tech continues the non-conference slate with five games at the Easton Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Ala. (Feb. 21-23) and faces off against Alabama, Drake and Southern Utah, before taking on Liberty on the road in Lynchburg, Va. (Feb. 26).
Virginia Tech finishes off non-conference play hosting the Hokie Invite in Salem, Va., from Feb. 28-March 2. The Hokies play five games as they face James Madison, Penn State and Villanova at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex.
Tech opens ACC play at home hosting Virginia (March 7-9) before a road game at Kentucky (March 12) and a road series at Louisville (March 14-16). The Hokies return to TSP for a doubleheader against Longwood (March 19) before hosting Stanford in an ACC series, the first matchup between both schools, from March 28-March 30.
The Hokies take on Liberty once again in a non-conference game (April 2) before an ACC road series against NC State (April 4-6).
The last midweek game of the year will be on April 8 as the Hokies host Charlotte. Continuing play at home, Tech hosts Notre Dame at TSP from April 11-13.
Tech hits the road for two ACC series at Pitt (April 17-19) and at Cal (April 25-27) before hosting the final conference series against Florida State from May 2-4.
The ACC Softball Championship will take place May 7-10 at Boston College.
The Hokies advanced to their fifth straight NCAA appearance in 2024. Tech finished the season ranked No. 18 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate poll and earned 40 wins in a single season for the second time in three years.
