Pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 & 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Montgomery County Planning Commission hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on January 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia, in order to hear citizen comments regarding the Planning Commission’s intention to act on the following Special Use Permit request:
A request by Network Towers, LLC for a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a 199-foot monopole wireless telecommunications tower, freestanding. The property is owned by S. R. Goff Hauling, Inc. and is located at 6000 North Fork Road, Elliston, northeast of Roanoke Road (State Route 11). The property is further identified as Tax Map 047-3 1A (Parcel ID: 026253), 3.914 acres, zoned Manufacturing (M1) in the Shawsville Magisterial District. The property currently lies in an area designated as Village Expansion in the 2025 Comprehensive Plan, and is further designated as Mixed Use in the Elliston-Lafayette Village Expansion Area.
