Santa coming to town
Santa will start cruising through Christiansburg at 6 p.m. each night from Dec. 16-20 and will drive until the route is complete. Just step outside your home to give him a wave as he drives by! He’ll be periodically sounding his siren, so you know when he’s on his way. Maps of the routes will be posted in the “News and Announcements” on the Town of Christiansburg’s website (Christiansburg.org). There will be five separate maps showing where Santa will be visiting each day.
Wednesday, Dec. 18:
Blacksburg Community Band concert
Winter concert of the Blacksburg Community Band at Blacksburg High School auditorium, 7 p.m. Concert is free, but donations are appreciated.

Ukelele Sing-along

At the Radford Public Library; 12:30 p.m. Teens have early release from schools and they can come to the library and enjoy a screening of “Elf” in the Teen Section while eating Buddy’s favorite meal: Dessert Pasta!

Holiday Cheer Celebration
At the Blacksburg Library, 2- 4 p.m. Join a Claytor Lake State Park ranger for a festive celebration filled with holiday crafts. Get creative with tree cookie ornaments and a holiday tree pinecone craft!
Family Movie Matinee: The Muppet Christmas Carol
At the Radford Public Library; 11 a.m. Scrooge, an old miser who dislikes Christmas, is visited by spirits who foretell his future and share secrets from his past and present, which helps change his view on life. Rated G; 85 min.

Santa Police Cruise
Santa will be trading his sleigh for a ride with the Radford City Police Department starting at 1 p.m. This year’s Santa Police Cruise will follow the same route as last year, making it easy for everyone to catch a glimpse of Santa as he makes his rounds through our city. Wrapping for a Reason booth to support MCEAP
The Montgomery County Emergency Assistant Program “Wrapping for a Reason” booth at Uptown Christiansburg, formerly called the NRV Mall in the old Zales location. Hours will vary but will be from about an hour after the mall opens to an hour before it closes from now through Christmas Eve. All proceeds go to MCEAP which provides year-round emergency assistance-food, clothing, utilities, and housing to those in need in Montgomery County. Please go to mceap.com for more information.
