College Sports Communicators have announced five Radford University soccer student-athletes including Tyler Pulik, Jashyra Johnson, Paige Olson, Ashley Loundermon and Ava Kertgate have all been named to Academic All-District for their impressive work both on and off the field as Highlanders.
To become eligible to earn the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, compete in 90 percent of the institution’s matches played or at least started in 66 percent of matches played, and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Only about 3% of all student-athletes at the Division I level are eligible to earn the award.
Tyler Pulik, a member of Radford’s men’s soccer team, was the captain of the Highlanders’ squad in the most recent season and helped lead the defensive backline to multiple key moments over the season.

In the classroom, Pulik is getting ready to graduate this spring after accumulating a 3.95 GPA as an Allied Health Sciences major. He will continue his academic career after graduating as he was accepted into the number one physical therapy doctoral program in the country at Delaware.

Pulik and Radford’s defense earned shutouts over Howard, Longwood, USC Upstate and nationally ranked Gardner-Webb over the course of the 2025 season.
Jashyra Johnson is one of four Radford women’s soccer student-athletes to earn the award. Over her last couple of years with the Highlanders, she has earned a 3.70 GPA majoring in criminal justice while also being a SAAC representative helping run the program’s social media content.

On the field, she excelled in 2025 scoring two goals, including a game-winner, while assisting a career-high five goals and was named to the Big South’s all-conference second-team at the end of the season.
Paige Olson earns the distinction capping an incredible four-year Highlander career. At Radford, she has earned an impressive 3.86 GPA as a psychology major, tutors on campus and is a team captain. Her results on the field have been historic, as her 28 career assists ranked second most in program history.

In 2025, she developed into a major goal-scoring threat for Radford striking for a career high five. At the end of the season, she was also named to the Big South all-conference second-team.
Ashley Loundermon earns her first all-district nod capping an incredible four years with Radford. She has accumulated an impressive 3.97 GPA as an allied health sciences major, set to graduate this spring.

Loundermon finished her Radford career with 11 goals, three assists, and an all-tournament nod all while appearing in a total 74 matches with the Highlanders.
Ava Kertgate rounds out the Radford women’s soccer student-athletes earning the academic all-district distinction.

Currently in the middle of her junior season, Kertgate has earned an impressive 3.79 GPA as a nursing major and is also a tutor on campus. The Stafford, Va. native was a consistent threat for the Highlanders in 2025, appearing and starting in all 16 matches scoring two assists and the game-winner in conference play at Presbyterian.
