SNHU announces Summer 2025 President’s List

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the Summer 2025 President’s List: Courtney Loan and James Loan of Riner; Thomas Floyd, Dakota Osborne and Lucas Goodykoontz of Radford; Ivy Lambert of Christiansburg; and Allen Stafford and Bryce Wood of Blacksburg. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List.

 

Edward Jacobs receives degree From Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga. – Edward Jacobs of Blacksburg has earned a Doctor of Philosophy with a major in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Jacobs was among approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students who earned degrees during the summer 2025 semester.

 

Christiansburg student inducted into communication honor society

CEDARVILLE, Ohio- The Cedarville chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for communication, inducted 26 communication students for outstanding academic performance, including professional writing and information design student Avery Carver, a junior from Christiansburg. Before receiving this honor, the inductees completed at least 60 credit hours with a 3.5 major GPA. The ceremony was held to celebrate their hard work and encourage them to persevere. Dr. Charles Elliott, senior professor of communication, led the ceremony. “The society promotes academic excellence in communication studies, fosters interest in the communication field, facilitates discussions and exchanges of ideas and builds strong relationships between faculty and students,” said Elliott.

 

Radford residents graduate from James Madison University

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Jessica Craig of Radford graduated Cum Laude with a degree(s) in Psychology – BA from James Madison University during commencement exercises in August 2025. Also, Addison Lester of Radford graduated with a degree in Sport & Rec. Management. They were among 611 students who received undergraduate and graduate degrees.

 

Students named to Dean’s List at University of Maryland

ADELPHI, Md. – More than 11,500 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean’s List for the summer 2025 term, including Brandon Bailey and Tylek Waiters of Christiansburg. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

 

Tanner Long of Christiansburg awarded gold stars at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Tanner Long of Christiansburg is one of the more than 500 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2025 semester. Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list. Those cadets may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. A gold star recognition certificate is awarded to non-cadet students who meet the requirements; veteran and active duty students are also awarded challenge coins. Long was also named to the dean’s list. The dean’s list is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (Incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester. Cadets who are named to the dean’s list receive a medal, which is worn on their uniform during the semester following their academic achievement. Non-cadet students on the dean’s list are presented a certificate.
