Dear editor,
Democrats and Affordability
Where is the “affordability” we heard from on the campaign trail from Governor Spanberger and the Democrats?
When I view the bills put forward in this session of the General Assembly, all I see is tax increases on everything from investments to delivery services, entertainment, etc.
I also see more regulations and infringements on law abiding citizens, especially in regards to our Second Amendment rights. We see demand and mandates on our electricity providers that will absolutely increase the rates we pay, all with the “promise of affordability!”
It’s one thing to promise what you know you can never deliver to the citizens, but it’s another entirely when you campaign on a platform and then completely reverse course and move away from that promise to something else entirely. Is this what we want as Virginians? If so, you have what you voted for; if not, there’s always the next election cycle to reverse course and return to common sense legislation and governance.
