The New River Valley Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) seeks public comment on
the proposed 2027-2030
Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP). Projects
included in the plan cover
roads, bridges, public
transportation, airport improvements enhancement
projects that include bikeways/walkways, and safety
projects among others.. A draft plan is available for
review at the offices of the Towns of Blacksburg
and Christiansburg, the City of Radford, and the
Montgomery and Pulaski County offices. It is also
available on the MPO website:
www.newrivervalleympo.org. Deadline for written
comments: 5:00 PM April 14, 2026
Oral comments will also be taken at the MPO Policy
Board meeting at 2:00 PM on May 7, 2026 at the
Montgomery County Government Center.
Comments can also address transit projects for which
Federal operating and capital assistance will be
sought under 49 USC Section 5303, as well as other
transportation modes.
