The New River Valley Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) is developing its 2026-27
Unified Planning Work
Program (UPWP). The
UPWP provides an annual
schedule of activities,
lists planning tasks and
studies, and identifies funding sources. A draft plan
is available for review at the offices of the Towns of
Blacksburg and Christiansburg, the City of Radford,
and the Montgomery and Pulaski County offices. It
is also available on the MPO website:

Deadline for written comments: 5:00 PM April 14,
2026
Oral comments will also be taken at the MPO Policy
Board meeting at 2:00 PM on May 7, 2026 at the
Montgomery County Government Center.
Comments can also address transit projects for
which Federal operating and capital assistance will
be sought under 49 USC Section 5303, as well as
other transportation modes.
