The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Tuesday, April 9, at 1:15 p.m. in 2100 Torgersen Hall, 620 Drillfield Dr., on the Blacksburg campus.
In addition, individual committee meetings and other sessions held during these two days will be at locations in Blacksburg and on the Virginia Tech campus.
Monday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m., all board members will meet in open session for an information session in 2100 Torgersen Hall. On Tuesday, April 9, members of the Buildings and Grounds committee will visit the university quarry; a van used to transport board members will depart from the Inn at Virginia Tech, 901 Prices Fork Road, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Tuesday, the chairs of the five standing board committees will meet in open session at 7:45 a.m. in the Old Guard Salon at The Inn at Virginia Tech.
In addition, on April 8 and 9, the following committee meetings will be held:
Tuesday, the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet in closed session beginning at 9 a.m. followed by open session at 9:30 a.m., both meetings to held in 2101 Gilbert Place, 220 Gilbert St., in Blacksburg.
Tuesday, Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in open session at 10:30 a.m. in 2124 Gilbert Place.
Monday, the Compliance, Audit, and Risk Committee will meet in closed session at 9:30 a.m. followed by open session at 10:30 a.m., both meetings to be held in 2100 Torgersen Hall.
The Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet Monday at 2:45 p.m. in closed session, followed by open session at 3:30 p.m., both meetings to be held in 2100 Torgersen Hall. Note: The committee will hold a brief recess to view the solar eclipse at approximately 3 p.m.
The Governance and Administration Committee will not convene during the two-day meeting.
During the two-day meeting, board members will receive reports or updates on the university’s Global Distinction initiative, information technology, and agricultural facilities, and will consider a resolution on 2024-25 tuition and fee rates.
