The Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), is launching a marketing campaign, “Creating Connections: For the Long Haul”, aimed at showcasing the vital role of freight rail in Virginia’s transportation infrastructure. This campaign focuses on raising awareness about the efficiencies, sustainability, and economic advantages offered by freight rail transportation as well as the DRPT programs that support freight rail throughout the Commonwealth.
Through a series of multimedia components that include video, digital ads, and engaging social media content, “Creating Connections” will share the benefits of businesses with rail connectivity, innovations driving efficiency, and the environmental benefits of choosing rail over traditional modes of transport.
DRPT Director Jennifer DeBruhl expresses enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Virginia’s freight rail system plays a critical role in our economy, supporting businesses, creating jobs, and reducing road congestion. By highlighting the benefits of our freight rail programs and the businesses utilizing rail, we hope to inspire companies to explore the opportunities and advantages that rail transportation can offer.”
“Creating Connections” will launch with a dedicated webpage providing a wealth of information, resources, and testimonials. The public is invited to explore the site to learn more about the benefits of freight rail and its impact on Virginia’s economy and sustainability efforts.
