Wanda Jones Basham, 73, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully April 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Christiansburg Sept. 3, 1950, to the late Calvin Ronnie Jones and Elizabeth Mae Creasy. Wanda graduated from Christiansburg High School and spent 36 years in banking, retiring as a branch manager in 2005. She loved her family deeply, and she was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will always be remembered for her love of animals and her unwavering dedication to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Basham; daughter, Amy B. Kyle (Jay); son, Jason R. Basham (Pam); sister, Brenda Jones; grandchildren, Marshall Basham, Hayden Kyle, Kayleigh Kyle, Logan Bosley (Emma) and Lindsey Bosley, great-grandchildren, Audrey and Elena Bosley, special brother-in-law Gerald Basham, and special nephew Eddie Burlingame (Tracy).
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Pastor Mike Neuse officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m before the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Centerwell Home Health, and Carilion Hospice.
