Radford University graduates celebrate undergraduate commencement Saturday with nearly 1,100 students graduating.

RADFORD – Radford University concluded its commencement ceremonies Saturday, celebrating the academic achievements of approximately 1,400 graduates.

The ceremonies, held on both Friday evening and Saturday, “honored the hard work and dedication of students who have successfully completed their degree programs” the university stated.

The undergraduate commencement ceremony, held on Moffett Lawn on Saturday, included nearly 1,100 students. Graduates, family and friends attended the soggy ceremony, as rain fell throughout the commencement exercises. More than 300 students participated in Friday evening’s graduate ceremony, “highlighting the diversity and breadth of talent among Radford’s graduating class.”

According to RU, the graduating class represented a wide age range and included many first-generation college graduates.

“Among the graduating cohort are 353 first-generation graduates, marking a significant milestone in their families’ educational journeys,” RU stated. “The class boasted a wide age range, with the youngest graduate being 19 years old and the oldest 69. Additionally, the commencement ceremonies celebrated the accomplishments of five sets of twins, adding a unique touch to the festivities. Radford University extends its heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and wishes them success and fulfillment in their future endeavors.”

Mark Pace ’92 delivered the keynote address at the university’s undergraduate ceremony. Amanda Cox, MBA ’21, delivered the keynote address during the graduate hooding ceremony.
