CHRISTIANSBURG – The Town of Christiansburg has begun drainage improvements on Hickok St., Commerce St. and W. Main St.
The work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, and is expected to last several months to more than a year. Phase I of the project will begin on Commerce St. before moving to additional areas listed above. The Town will continue to post updates as the project progresses.
Throughout the duration of the work, there will be lane and road closures. Detours will be clearly marked and flaggers will be on-site to guide traffic. Parking along Commerce St. will be limited, and parking will not be allowed in the construction zones, which will be blocked off for safety. Trash collection and mail service will continue, though routes may be adjusted as needed. Any changes will be communicated with the customer.
