BLACKSBURG – Blacksburg United Methodist Church presented a check for $3,000 to the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program (MCEAP).
The MCEAP’s mission is to assist Montgomery County residents in maintaining their households and restoring their self-sufficiency, achieved by serving the immediate, emergency, and temporary needs of low-income, unemployed, elderly or handicapped individuals and families.
“We know that every penny donated will go to help our community with food, clothing, household items, and/or financial assistance,” said Arnold. “Our SERVE team is excited to learn that the MCEAP program will now be delivering meals weekly to seniors. Meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered by MCEAP volunteers.”
