Loren Douglas Harvey, 88, of Christiansburg, died at his home Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024.
He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on Dec. 22, 1935, to the late Loren Ward and Mabel Francis Miller Harvey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Stump Harvey, a son, Dean Harvey, and an infant son. Doug retired from the Town of Blacksburg.
He is survived by his loving friend, Gail O. Day; daughter, Linda Dowdy; sisters, Ethel Harvey and Betty Crawford; brothers, Mack Harvey and Wayne Harvey; special nephew, Buster; grandchildren, Christy (Greg), John (J.R.) (John Reeder); three great-grandchildren, special friends/ neighbors, Patsy Day and Sam Jones.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Linkous officiating. Interment followed in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
