MONTGOMERY COUNTY – Two separate incidents have landed two men in jail for alleged sexual offenses against minors.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 18, 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office “executed a search warrant at a residence located in the Fairview Church area of Montgomery County. The search warrant for was obtained following an investigation related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.”
Multiple items were seized from the residence, owned by Michael James Talkington of Christiansburg. Items seized included electronics and narcotics. Following the search of the residence and an analysis of the seized electronics, Talkington was charged with several offenses, including sexual contact with animal, use of computer to solicit a minor, possession of child pornography, contribute to the delinquency of a minor, use of computer to commit certain sexual offenses, manufacture marijuana, marijuana: possession with the intent to sell and drugs: possession of Schedule I or II.
Talkington is currently being held at the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond.
In a separate incident, on Oct. 20, 2024, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious person trespassing on a resident’s property, according to the MCSO.
“Deputies did not locate the individual at the residence but later discovered him on the roadway near the home,” MCSO announced. “The individual was identified as Allen Blake Brown from Easley, South Carolina. After further investigation, it was discovered Mr. Brown was involved in explicit conversations with a juvenile residing at the complainant’s address.
Brown was arrested and has been charged with possession of obscene material using minors, contributing to the delinquency or abuse of a child, obscenity-electronic means for procuring minors for obscene material, two counts of child solicitation, and taking indecent liberties with a child under 15. He is currently held without bond at the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
“Investigators later determined that Brown had been involved in similar incidents in Virginia, along with South Carolina, Washington, and Michigan,” according to MCSO. “Those investigations are still pending. We encourage parents to be vigilant with your children and know what they are doing on social media and who they are talking to.”
