Christmas on Main
Each December, the Town of Christiansburg holds Christmas on Main in Downtown Christiansburg. Join us on Dec. 13 starting at 5 p.m. for Christmas at the Market featuring local crafters and other vendors, followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade. The Tree Lighting Ceremony with the mayor will take place at Town Square at roughly 6:50 p.m., with the Christmas Parade starting at 7 p.m. The theme for this year’s parade is “Decorations, gifts and jingle all the way. Here comes Santa in his big red sleigh.”

At Glencoe Mansion, Museum & Gallery, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Glencoe Mansion is looking forward to its annual Handcrafted Holiday Market & Glencoe Open House. Shop with talented, one of a kind local artisans and visit the Glencoe Mansion Gift Shop for unique holiday gifts, while the mansion will be decorated in picturesque holiday decor.
Monday, Dec. 16 – Friday, Dec. 20:
Santa coming to town
Santa will start cruising through Christiansburg at 6 p.m. each night from Dec. 16-20 and will drive until the route is complete. Just step outside your home to give him a wave as he drives by! He’ll be periodically sounding his siren, so you know when he’s on his way. Maps of the routes will be posted in the “News and Announcements” on the Town of Christiansburg’s website (Christiansburg.org). There will be five separate maps showing where Santa will be visiting each day.

Blacksburg Community Band concert
Winter concert of the Blacksburg Community Band at Blacksburg High School auditorium, 7 p.m. Concert is free, but donations are appreciated.

Wrapping for a Reason booth to support MCEAP
The Montgomery County Emergency Assistant Program “Wrapping for a Reason” booth at Uptown Christiansburg, formerly called the NRV Mall in the old Zales location. Hours will vary but will be from about an hour after the mall opens to an hour before it closes from now through Christmas Eve. All proceeds go to MCEAP which provides year-round emergency assistance-food, clothing, utilities, and housing to those in need in Montgomery County. Please go to mceap.com for more information.
