“He returns to the town after a successful career in both the private and public sectors, including leadership positions in the private sector and with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT),” the announcement reads. “His experience encompasses land development, transportation engineering, maintenance operations, and community engagement.”
“Christiansburg has always had a special place in my heart, and I’m eager to contribute to its continued growth and success,” said Shippee. “I look forward to reconnecting with the community and working alongside an incredible team to help shape the future of our town.”
Town Manager Randy Wingfield says Scot’s professional experiences and familiarity with the town will help him excel in the position.
“Scot’s professional background spans a variety of disciplines, offering a diverse skill set that will benefit the Town of Christiansburg,” said Wingfield. “He is familiar with our community and understands its needs. It was important for us to hire a leader who can guide and grow Christiansburg with innovative ideas and a unique perspective. We believe Scot will do just that.”
