The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received a request for a new development called Catalyst Blacksburg PRD rezone at 3503 Holiday Lane.
It is a rezoning request from GC General Commercial to PR Planned Residential to construct four multifamily buildings for up to 300 units and up to 380 bedrooms (45 units/acre or 56 bedrooms/acre). The buildings will be a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units with one entrance to the site from Yellow Sulphur Road.
The applicant is requesting an exception to Use and Design Section 4216(a)(3) to not require a street-oriented entrance along Yellow Sulphur Rd.
A neighborhood meeting is set for Thursday, March 6, 2025, 5:30 p.m. in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 South Main St.
A planning commission public hearing is set for Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 300 South Main St.
The date for a town council public hearing will be scheduled after the Planning Commission makes a recommendation to town council. Please see the Town’s website for updated schedules.
