Fashion camp turn local youth into runway models

Blacksburg Parks, Recreation and Tourism recently presented its annual Fashion Design and Youth Modeling Camp as a part of its many camp opportunities.

There were 19 campers and two counselors, Julia Fallon and Zoe Howard, who participated in the week of fun, learning, and friendship.

Campers are from throughout the New River Valley and included: Annie Allen, Annabelle Arena, Ariella Brack, Blakely Brack, Alora Clark, Sofia Evia, Lillian Hernberger, Amelia Homa, Anna Kratzer, Lillian Leamy, Maya Morgan, Ena Sageska, Miwa Sageska, Laurel Scott, Ruby Scott, Elena Slade, Cara Soccolich, Emily Strand and Jayna Williams.

Fashion design and history, fashion modeling techniques and walks, stage makeup, etiquette tea party and manners and auditioning techniques were included. The camp ended with a family and friends runway fashion show including five separate outfits: Summer Days, Sporty, Back to School, Bling’s the Thing and Wedding Bells.

Each camper received a completion certificate.
