Oscar “Butch” O. Sherman, Jr., 73, of Riner, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025 at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1951 to the late Oscar O. Sr. and Dorothy Smith Sherman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Eddie Sherman. He is survived by his special companion, Marge Fluke; sister, Andrea Sherman; brothers, Clarence (Corelise) Sherman, Grant Sherman and Brent Sherman; daughters, Tamika Sherman, Jamese Martin and Kristen (Alonzo) Robinson; son, Eric Sherman; several grandchildren, special aunt Cornelia (Timy) Morris, host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 5, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Wake Forest Cemetery, McCoy, Va. with Elder Jessie Eaves and the Rev. Hiawatha Spraggins officiating. Per Butch’s requests please wear jeans and cowboy boots. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
