A former NFL standout defensive player is teaming up with Christiansburg native and four-time NHRA Funny Car Champion.
All-Pro linebacker Fletcher Cox and Matt Hagan have announced the launch of the new “Fletcher Cox Signature Beef Stick” through the Hagan Cattle Company.
According to a release, the partnership is built on a longtime friendship and a shared passion for competition. Hagan approached Cox about creating a signature product, and now the handcrafted beef stick will join Hagan Cattle Co.’s growing lineup of flavors, including Original, Teriyaki, Sweet Smoke, and Nitro Heat.
Hagan started the cattle company shortly after his first world championship and has as many as a dozen different farms in Montgomery County.
This past fall, Hagan purchased Grayson Foods Beef Stick Company in Rocky Mount. The strategic business moved allowed him to expand his agricultural footprint from just raising Angus cattle to manufacturing and distributing mass-market meat snacks.
Over a 16-season career, Fletcher played for three different NFL teams and was part of one which won Super Bowl XXXIV. He set the all-time record for consecutive starts by a linebacker with 215 games. He made four Pro Bowls during his time with the then-Washington Redskins.
