Man arrested for murder of Radford man

A Roanoke Police investigation has led to eight felony indictments in a double homicide.

One of the victims of the February homicide was from Radford.

“On Sept. 8, 2026, a Roanoke City Grand Jury returned true bills on eight felony indictments against Jamal Edward Crump in connection with the Feb. 8, 2026, double homicide that claimed the lives of 35-year-old Khireem Jerome Porter of Radford and 37-year-old Jeffrie Lamont Meadows of Wytheville,” the RCPD announced. “Throughout the investigation, detectives worked closely with the Roanoke City Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Roanoke Police Department’s iSTAR Unit. Investigators utilized LPR technology, available data, and other investigative resources to develop and analyze information related to the case. Information obtained through LPR technology, combined with traditional investigative methods, physical evidence, interviews, and extensive follow-up by detectives, helped build the case that was ultimately presented to the Roanoke City Grand Jury.”

The grand jury returned true bills of indictment against Crump on first degree murder of Khireem Porter, use of a firearm in the commission of murder, first degree murder of Jeffrie Meadows, use of a firearm in the commission of murder, robbery resulting in death, use of a firearm in the commission of robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – two counts.

Crump remains incarcerated at the Roanoke City Adult Detention Center.
