
Edith Elizabeth Gearheart Hall, 87, of Blacksburg, was born June 25, 1939, and passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at Salem Health and Rehab Center in Salem, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Myrtle Gearheart. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Ottie Louis Hall; son, Donald Wayne Hall; brothers, Thomas Gearheart and Henderson Linkous; sisters, Rebecca Flinchum, Josephine Lovern and Lucille Linkous, and nephew, Dwayne Linkous. Left to cherish her memory are her grandson Seth Austin Hall (Michelle); granddaughter Hayley Noelle Hall; nieces Sandra Cruise, Sharon Graham and Lori Ann Helvey; and nephews David Flinchum, Timmy, Kenny and Ricky Lovern and Mark Linkous. Edith was a Christian of great faith, blessed with many friends, extended family, cherished visits and activities through the years. In earlier years, she enjoyed traveling, camping, family gatherings and flower gardening.
She was proud of her past employment at Imperial Reading and Hubbell Lighting. She was very proud to be a charter member of Faith Christian Church of Christ in Christiansburg. Family will receive visitors Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, noon to 1 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. The graveside funeral service will be held at Roselawn Gardens Mausoleum, 1:30 to 2 p.m., with Pastor David Rhudy presiding.
