NEW RIVER VALLEY MPO SEEKS
PUBLIC INPUT ON AN UPDATE TO
THE MPO STUDY AREA MAP
The New River Valley Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) seeks public comment on an
update to the MPO Study Area map. The purpose
of the update is to add 2
areas that were added to
the urbanized area as a
result of the 2020 Census.
Copies of the proposed
map are available for review at: Planning Offices in
Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, the Counties
of Montgomery and Pulaski, and on the MPO
website at: www.NRVMPO.org
Deadline for Written Comments: October 13, 2026
The public can also speak at the MPO Policy
Board Meeting November 5, 2026, 2 p.m., at the
Montgomery County Government Center.
