Brenda Shull “Sal” Woolwine, 81, went to her heavenly home on Sept. 22, 2026, surrounded by her family after spending her final two years in Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Christiansburg High School, Brenda married her high school sweetheart, Roger Woolwine, and together they built a loving family. After earning her cosmetology certification and working from home while raising her children, she began a distinguished banking career at First National Bank of Christiansburg. Through dedication and hard work, she rose from teller to vice president of accounting before retiring after more than 30 years of service.
Brenda was devoted to her family, faith and community. She found great joy in cooking, baking, crafting, decorating and creating holiday magic for neighborhood children. Her talents included sewing, painting detailed Santa figurines, golfing with friends, organizing class reunions and serving her church family at St. Paul United Methodist Church. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world and planning cherished annual family vacations to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Woolwine; son, Eric Woolwine (Tonya); daughter, Shannon Wohlford (Greg); sisters, Judy Carter and Debbie Atkins; brother, Rufus “Buddy” Shull; grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison, Brooklyn, Dacey (Nason McCall), Wesley and Elainia; great-granddaughter, Audrey McCall; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers of Gentiva Hospice, Manchester Commons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, Manchester Commons, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date in Christiansburg.
