If you can remember, last Saturday was a day that was cold and windy, with Virginia Tech getting ready to play Georgia Tech in a major college football game. The day also included a group at the four corners in Christiansburg involved in a “No Kings” rally. They stood for hours with signs and encouragement to people with the message enough is enough.
“No Kings” supporters are also trying to encourage voters in the New River Valley to vote and vote early. They are doing so with a non-violence approach. They feel voting is the best way citizen voices can be heard.
“No Kings” rallies have been organized throughout the United States during Trump’s second term in office. It has been labeled as a non-violent day of defiance. Last June thousands of protestors rallied in Los Angeles supporting “No Kings.”
The rallies are a method to protest what the Trump administration is supporting and Mr. Trump’s feeling he should be king or dictator. They have become a national day of action in response to excesses and corruption from Mr. Trump and his administration.
Congratulations to all the individuals involved in the “No Kings” rallies.
Thought for the day: VOTE.
