A new short-term manufacturing technician program will begin at New River Community College in March.
The training will be held Monday through Friday, beginning March 6 and run until April 3, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Dublin.
The specialized course is based on the techniques and interrelationships found in high performance manufacturing and production. The certificate and training program addresses the core technical competencies required for skilled production occupations in all sectors of manufacturing.
Quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes, electrical and mechanical basics, and maintenance awareness will be covered in the training program.
The core technical competencies include math and measurement, manufacturing technology and spatial reasoning, and business acumen and quality. Students will be awarded the Manufacturing Technician Level 1 (MT1) certification upon a successful pass rate on all three of the certification modules.
NRCC is a Manufacturing Skills Institute Certified Assessment Center.
