Christiansburg Institute will celebrate the grand re-opening of the Christiansburg Institute Smokehouse Museum on Saturday, July 21, from 12 – 3 p.m. at the Institute on Scattergood Drive.
The institute’s announcement encouraged the community to “Celebrate and learn more about the history of the CI with a tour of historical sites.”
The tour will visit historic Christiansburg Institute sites throughout Christiansburg including the Edgar A. Long Building, the Old Hill School, and Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church.
The event will also feature a community picnic (there’s limited food so, first come, first served!) music, local art, kids crafts and activities.
The re-opening of the Christiansburg Institute Smokehouse Museum will be marked by a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Free admission and donations are welcomed!
