Walter “Johnson” Reynolds, 85, of Whitethorne, Va., died Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born in Henry County, Va. on October 23, 1932 to the late Ruben S. Reynolds and Alice B. Reynolds. He was preceded in death by sister Mary Virginia Quinn and her husband Robert C. Quinn and niece Anita Quinn, and by his son Richard M. Reynolds.
He was a charter member of the Longshop-McCoy Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Past Chaplin of VAVRS. He was a longtime member of Shiloh Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Verna W. Reynolds; sons, David J. Reynolds and special friend Pat Akers, Robert K. Reynolds, wife Leanne R.P. Reynolds; daughter, Ann Marie Paulson, husband W. Martin Paulson; daughter-in-law, Melonie Reynolds; grandchildren, Alice R. Duty and husband Aaron, Chelsea R. Saville-Reynolds, Carly L. Dove and husband Brandon, S. Logan Saville-Reynolds and wife Brianna, Brigitta C. Paulson, Marta M. Paulson, Louisa M. Paulson, and Sarah Reynolds; great-grandchild, Wyatt D. Saville-Reynolds; nephew Thomas R. Quinn and wife Caroline and their sons Daniel and David; special care givers, Alisha Caldwell, Amber Koch, Sarah Atkinson.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Shiloh Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Bansemer officiating. Interment will follow in the Harless Cemetery, Longshop. The family received friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home.
