Montgomery Museum Heritage Days Saturdays
The Montgomery Museum & Lewis Miller Regional Art Center will celebrate local history with historical re-enactments, craft, dance, music, genealogists, Leggos, possibly llamas and pie from 10-3 Saturday, Aug. 25 on the museum lawn at 200 S. Pepper St., Christiansburg). The pie contest is much anticipated. Open to children too, just bring a pie to the judges before 1 p.m.

Try this great fun exercise for free at the Square Dance Open House, then sign up for the series of Monday evening classes (6:30- 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 10 at the church). The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Support Group

The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Support Group for the New River Valley will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 11, in the New River Room (on the main level) of the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Potter in the Park Run/Walk, costumes and quidditch

Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley is hosting its Potter in the Park event on Sept. 1, the first day of Hogwarts. The run or walk Triwizard Tri-Mile Trail Race begins at 9 ¾ o’clock (9:45 a.m.) at Nellie’s Cave Park in Blacksburg.
The event will feature a costume contest, quidditch demonstrations, “house” prizes, and other fun for muggles and wizards alike. Register by today, Aug. 15, and receive a free T-shirt.

The Southside Garden Club’s juried flower show entitled “Read me a Book,”
interprets some of your favorite books in flowers. Master designers, who have garnered awards at the national level, will be expressing their interpretations of the beauty of flowers and the magic of storytelling. Nationally accredited judges will be presenting awards for both designs and horticulture.
