Luther Isaac Dickens, 85, of Radford, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 at Warm Hearth Kroontje Center in Blacksburg.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Radford, a U. S. Army veteran and the founder of RADVA Corporation. Born on Dec. 25, 1932, he was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Sabie Dickens and Violet Geneva Allen; sisters, Helen, Jeanette, Lois, and Shirley; and brother, Ronnie.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen Scott Dickens of Radford; his children and their spouses, Donald Allen Dickens (Sherry), Heidi Elizabeth Dickens, and Stephen Luther Dickens (Teresa); grandchildren, Catherine Scott, Trayanna Karol, Betsy Gray, Patricia Sheryl, Allen Trahin, Thomas Luther, Gabriella Teresa, and Stephanie Scott; great grandchildren, Amelia Mae, Macauley, Major Gray, Helen Coraline, and Olivia Dawn; siblings, Ginny, Susan, and Nancy; beloved uncle Rush Gardner Allen; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation were on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Radford. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Paul Lane and Rev. Kent Taylor officiating.
