Frances Smith Jarels, 85, of Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. Born in Montgomery County Va. on Sept. 8, 1933, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin E. Jarels.
She was a member of the Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an ordained minister of the gospel. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter E. Jarels; daughters and sons-in-law; Louise and Jimmy Mattox, Joyce and Mike Randall, Enola and Donald Hixon; daughter-In-law Nadean Jarels; brothers, Edward Smith, Cecil Smith: 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Layne Board and Rev. Steve Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home,150 Country Club Dr. SW Blacksburg.
