Thomas “Tommy” Glenn Wilson, 79, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at his home in Radford. Born Sept. 13, 1939, he was a U.S. Army Veteran and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Virginia Tech and worked for many years with his family at Wilson-Pontiac-Buick.
Later in his life, he became a realtor in Radford, and in his retirement, he served on the board of directors for the Radford Heritage Foundation and there he found his true calling. He loved doing research on Radford history and volunteering at the Glencoe Museum and sharing all his many stories.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Lillian Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Slusher Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Peter Reitmeyer of Austin, Texas; son, Jon Glenn Wilson of Pearland, Texas; granddaughters Ryan, Reagan and Reese Reitmeyer and Katie Wilson and grandsons Jake and Nate Reitmeyer and Thomas Wilson; sisters, Connie Hoover and Betsy Albert; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be begin at 1 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Unity Christian Church in Radford with the Rev. Wendy Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Unity Christian Church in Thomas’s name.
The Wilson family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Virginia.
