James W. Epperly, Chief of the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department from 1972-2009 died yesterday, Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
A message posted on the department’s Facebook page read, “It is with great sadness that Chief James (Jimmy) Epperly went to his heavenly home this morning. Chief Epperly was a great leader and community servant for over 50 year of service. Rest easy, Chief, we will take it from here. Please keep the Epperly family and the Christiansburg Fire Department in your thoughts and prayers.”
