Girl Scout Cookie lovers, this is the last weekend cookies will be on sale!

The Girl Scout Cookie season is coming to a close on Sunday, March 31.
Purchasing cookies supports Girl Scout troops in southwestern and central Virginia. According to the Girl Scouts, “every box purchased helps power unique and amazing experiences for the girls who sell them.”

“It also gives each girl the opportunity to learn essential life skills, soar in confidence, and quickly discover the leader within,” states information rleeased by the Girl Scouts.
This year’s best-selling cookies are:
#1 – Thin Mints
#2 – Caramel deLites/Samoas
#3 – Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs
#4 – Girl Scout S’mores
#5 – Peanut Butter Sandwiches/Do-si-dos
”More than just delicious cookies, the Girl Scout Cookie Program fuels girls’ development of entrepreneurial and essential life skills, and the cookie earnings power amazing experiences for girl members.”

Close to one million Girl Scouts participate in the cookie program each year, generating nearly $800 million in sales during the average season. And all of the net revenue raised—100 percent of it—stays within the Virginia Skyline Council area. Virginia Skyline Council uses cookie earnings to provide incredible experiences for girls through programming, while girls and their troops decide how to invest in impactful community projects, personal enrichment opportunities, and more. Girl Scout troops are doing amazing things made possible by each and every cookie sale like badge work, field trips to local museums, camping in the great outdoors, community service projects and learning about science and technology with hands-on experiences.
