Brady Kirtner was the winning pitcher in Wednesday’s 7-2 win in the battle of the Burgs, striking out 10 batters. He also hit a grand slam in the second inning. Christiansburg is now 9-2 overall and 4-2 in River Ridge District play. Dakota Sisson had three hits and an RBI for Christiansburg.Blacksburg’s Craig Weaver will scoop the ball up and throw to first for the out in the loss to Christiansburg. Colin Cullver had a two-run homer for Blacksburg. Blacksburg’s Luke Goforth also added a double for the Bruins.
