BLACKSBURG – Each year there are hundreds of weddings taking place all throughout Virginia. There are many churches as well as outdoor venues that host lovely wedding ceremonies and then the guests move on to celebrate with the bride and groom at a specially planned reception. There is a lot of stress involved with planning and orchestrating these weddings. Much of the work falls on the bride, her mother or another family member. Brides often hire a wedding planner to help them through the stages of wedding planning. However, with so much to know, how easy is it to find this information out there in books or on-line? Wouldn’t a wedding planning class be of some benefit?
Why do brides have a processional, why does the couple cut a wedding cake, drink a toast, and why does the bride throw her bouquet to all single ladies, who have never been married before? Why does the groom throw the bride’s garter, Why is the trip after the wedding called a honeymoon? And what is it when the bride is told she has to have “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a ‘six pence’ in her shoe?” So if you are about to be a bride, you want to learn the answers to these questions and many more, but how can you do this?
You can learn these answers at a wedding planning seminar. There is a class that is now forming that will help brides learn the ins and outs of planning a wedding and reception. Information on how to get started, what are the most important questions one must ask vendors when interviewing them, what are some of the most often made mistakes and how to organize the wedding reception, will be discussed. There will be a question/answer session as well
“I was so nervous before,” said a recent bride who attended one of the instructor’s workshops in the past. “I felt like I was lost and I had a bolder on my back. I was so worried. Now I’m not!” She and her fiancé were very happy to have learned a few options for their wedding so they can have a stress free wedding day.
“I always tell the brides and grooms that attend one of my classes, you will learn something new or different today,” stated Christina Webb, instructor of this seminar. “I always say, it’s my hope you walk out of here at the end saying, ‘this was defiantly worth it’. I give a lot of information that usually a wedding planner wouldn’t share. But I do, because I want their wedding to be successful.” Webb went on to explain why she is teaching this class, “I was at a wedding where I was not the planner 2 years ago, and I saw how much the bride and her maid-of-honor were stressing at the rehearsal. They didn’t know what to do. They were asking others for help. I want brides to be confident at the rehearsal and especially on their wedding day.”
The class will be on Saturday, April 27, 2019 to help those planning weddings understand how to complete the steps necessary and take away some of the stress in planning. This is an intense seminar to walk attendees through the process of planning a wedding. There is a question/answer session as well. The class starts at 1 to 5 p.m. The event will be held in the meeting room at Courtyard by Marriott (102 Southpark Drive) in Blacksburg. (just off of South Main Street).
Preregistration is suggested at astaweddingplanning.com Cost is $35.00 per person. (Pre-resister for a discount). Tickets at the door will be $50.
