Gene Autry Hale, 78, of Blacksburg died, Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on March 24, 1941 to the late Andy and Mamie Sue Caldwell Hale. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Charlotte Whittaker Hale and a daughter Rhonda Jean Hale. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Terri Hale, Robin and Greg McCoy; son, Ricky Hale; granddaughter Danielle Hurt and husband Russell; great-grandchildren, Houston Ryder and Cooper McCoy Hurt; special friend Betty Whitlock. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Williams officiating. Interment followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
