Jason Duffie slides and is called safe at the plate in Tuesday’s opening round of the River Ridge baseball tournament as Christiansburg picked up a 12-0 home win over Pulaski County. The game was called after five innings because of the slaughter rule.Pitcher Connor Brizendine gave up one hit with six strikeouts en route to the win for the Blue Demons who advanced to play in Thursday’s late tournament action. At the plate, Ty Dunkleman, Dakota Sisson and Brady Kirtner, each had two hits apiece. Dunkleman drove in three runs in the win.
