Summer Solstice Fest in Blacksburg is once again proud to be a certified Virginia Green Event and this year, they are taking the festivals to the next green level said Downtown Blacksburg, Inc introducing the black stainless steel pint engraved by local vendor, New River Engraving, as this year’s new Festival Cup.
At the 12th Annual Summer Solstice Fest is scheduled rain or shine for Saturday June 15, patrons will have two choices at the summer festival beer gardens. They may buy the new, stainless steel pint for $6 or bring their own 16 oz. lidless steel pint from home.
“No more plastic, no more Styrofoam. Much less waste and use of resources.
Our new cup will give you benefits throughout the year as well, not just during festival season,” the DBI announcement said.
Our members will begin to offer discounts and coupons for customers who use the cup, $1 off a drink, free refills, for instance.
“Drink out of your own cup, show off your support for local businesses and give love back to the environment. Watch this space to learn all about the special deals all year round,” DBI encouraged. “Please walk, bike, bus or ride share to our festival.”
From 1pm- 11:30pm the Summer Solstice Fest will take over Main Street and Lee Street with a fantastic line up of family fun and entertainment for all. Register now for the Downtown Sundown 5K® Run.
As always the festival is free and open to all. The Town of Blacksburg will be offering FREE Parking at all metered spaces in the downtown area. Parking at the Midtown Property will also be free.
